Science Club: Tuesdays, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., January 21st to February 25th (6-14 years old)
This program is geared towards to develop habits of exploration and to encourage individuals in group activities. There are opportunities to stimulate active participation and initiative among students in the learning process. Participants work through science-based experiments alongside our instructors.
Junior Robotics: Wednesdays, Tuesdays, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., January 22nd to February 26th (6-110 years old)
Designed for learning, engineered for fun! Using the LEGO’s SPIKE Essential kits to encourage hands-on play and learning to make creative problem-solving concrete and tangible, by providing learners with the tools to imagine and invent the future. LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential, part of the LEGO® Learning System, is the cross-curricular STEAM solution for elementary education. It engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. This system is an intuitive, inclusive, and highly adaptable hands-on learning system.
Virtual Coding 101 (Zoom) Thursday, 6:00p.m. - 7:30 p.m., January 23rd to February 27th (8-14 years old. Flexible if interested)
Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games, and animation with people from all over the world. The primary focus of the Coding program is to address the development of functioning skills (e.g. problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, focusing attention and remembering instructions). As participants create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically. Group participants will create an account with Scratch and can share their creations with family and friends. Through our coding projects, participants will learn to improve their planning and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate Robotics: Sundays, 10:00 am- 12:00 pm, January 19th to March 2nd, NO CLASS February 16th (10-14 years old).
Using the LEGO Spike Prime kits, which are part of the LEGO® Learning System, this program is designed for learning, engineered for fun. It includes bright colors, friendly shapes, and a simple coding environment to get learners excited about robotics. As a component of the LEGO® Learning System, as a cross-curricular STEAM solution for elementary education. It engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts while contributing to literacy, math, and social-emotional development. This system is an intuitive, inclusive, and highly adaptable hands-on learning system.
