Intermediate level 1

This program is a challenging and enriching program that offers children extensive and comprehensive understanding of the mechanical, design, build and programming aspects with respect to the EV3 Mindstorms in real world challenges. The knowledge and understanding is geared to link directly to potential careers and feats of engineering. Our mission is to give each participant exposure to the field of engineering and show them the fun of problem solving and critical thinking using an engineering mindset. No prerequisite required

Dates: Sunday 10:00-12:00pm, January 16, 2022 - February 27, 2022 ( NO CLASS February 20)

Eligibility:

  • Participants must be able to safely and successfully participate in a structured 2-hour large group program.
  • Participants must be interested in participating in the selected robotics program as well as be motivated to work towards a selected goal actively throughout the session.
  • Children must be the appropriate age to participate in the program or be turning that age during the program ( Intermediate 10-14 years old).
  • If a child would benefit from and/or require 1:1 support during program in order to participate safely and/or successfully, it is the responsibility of the caregiver to source 1:1 support for the participant prior to clients spot being confirmed. **Note: 1:1 support can not be a direct family member.**
  • Participants must have identified a way of accessing a computer and/or speech generating device prior to the program start date. This may require an appointment with our Assistive Technology Specialist.

Cancellation Policy

Participants will be charged the full program fee if they cancel less than one week before the program start date.

What happens after registration?

Register by purchasing your ticket and completing the order form. You will receive a confirmation and receipt in the mail, or a phone call if more information is required. You will be contacted for a participant screening appointment.

  • Payments will be processed with your registration information.
  • You must complete an intake interview with our Recreational Therapeutic Specialist before the start of the program to complete you participation. The therapist will contact you directly to set up this appointment.
