Featuring a curated selection of wines by Lori Devlin, paired
with a special lecture by Prof. John Cino
As much of Europe was entering the Gothic phase, the city states fueled by memories of ancient Rome took a different direction. By the 14th century Tuscan city states, Florence and Sienna engaged in a rivalry in artistic production which helped launch the Renaissance. We will look at 13th and 14th century architecture, painting and sculpture from the region while we sample Tuscan wines.
