The project challenges the idea that objects held in collections no longer have familial or cultural ties. FAM worked with 135 items on loan from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and the 39 Tribal Nations in Oklahoma to establish a reconnection practice. The museum believes this work benefits tribal communities, collecting institutions, and museum audiences alike.
