Situational awareness is critical to keeping you safe in the outdoors, from both natural and human threats. This workshop will teach important skills to help you avoid conflict and keep you out of harm’s way when it happens. You’ll learn how to scan and process your surroundings to identify possible red flags, expand your approach to conflict resolution, identify ways to deal with fear, and become empowered to spend more time alone in nature. Participants should bring a water bottle and dress in comfortable clothing. 1.5 hours
This is an official WINGS event! The goal of Women in Nature Gaining Skills (WINGS) is to encourage and empower women with the skills and confidence they need to partake in outdoor recreation activities in the south-central Indiana area. Each WINGS event features women-led hands-on training, with the goal of building a community of women interested in outdoor recreation. WINGS events take place on the 3rd Sunday* of each month and are open to women ages 16 and up.
