Preparing food on an open fire can be both simpler and more complicated than meal prep in a modern kitchen. Because maintaining an even temperature is important for a good outcome, baking is perhaps the most challenging open fire technique to master. This workshop will teach the most important skills for open fire baking in cast-iron and participants will partner up to bake a batch of from-scratch biscuits in a Dutch oven. 60 to 90 minutes
This is an official WINGS event! The goal of Women in Nature Gaining Skills (WINGS) is to encourage and empower women with the skills and confidence they need to partake in outdoor recreation activities in the south-central Indiana area. Each WINGS event features women-led hands-on training, with the goal of building a community of women interested in outdoor recreation. WINGS events take place on the 3rd Sunday* of each month and are open to women ages 16 and up.
