Wings Of Wonder | Airport Readiness Tours For Families With Extra Abilities
Join us at Rapid City Regional Airport for a unique experience tailored for families with extra abilities! Our Airport Readiness Tour is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals who may benefit from a little extra support when traveling.
This event is proudly presented in partnership with Rapid City Regional Airport, the City of Rapid City’s Accessibility Committee, and Wondermakers Travel, working together to create more inclusive and supportive experiences for all travelers.
The tour will begin at baggage claim and include a guided walk through the terminal. Participants can explore different areas and get hands-on experience with the check-in process and TSA security procedures. We’ll also provide helpful information about what to expect during screening to help reduce stress or uncertainty.
As part of our ongoing commitment to accessibility, we’re proud to offer the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. During the tour, guests can pick up a free sunflower lanyard—an optional way to signal that someone may need additional support, time, or understanding while at the airport.
For those interested, the tour can also include an optional bus ride around the airfield, offering a unique, behind-the-scenes look at airport operations!
