About this Event
Hi, I’m Elaina Burt, proud founder of Charlie’s Chance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in love, resilience, and the unforgettable legacy of my little cousin, Charlie Mae.
Diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy as an infant, Charlie’s 8-year journey was one of courage, grace, and light. Her strength inspired everyone who knew her—and continues to inspire the work we do every day.Charlie's Chance is more than a tribute to Charlie Mae; it’s a promise to carry forward her spirit by making a difference in the lives of epilepsy patients and families facing similar challenges—by educating our communities, supporting families, and creating real change.
I’m so excited to join together for a magically special night at the 4th Annual Wings of Hope Gala Dinner at the Southern Museum of Flight benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Alabama. This event has raised almost $100,000 in three years and I'm so excited for what's to come! As flight school student, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to merge my two greatest passions...epilepsy advocacy and aviation! Join me for a fun-filled night including dinner, live music, special guests, photo booth fun and a silent auction! Each event ticket includes two beverage coupons.
Kick off this holiday season in style! *Cocktail Attire requested. This event has SOLD OUT every year. So get your tickets early! 💜
Did you know that over 50 million people worldwide suffer from epilepsy? Furthermore, 1 in 10 people will suffer from a seizure at some point during their lifetime and 1 in 26 will develop full epilepsy (1 or more seizures). Epilepsy is not rare. There are more than twice as many people with epilepsy in the US as the number of people with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and cystic fibrosis combined. What does 1 in 10 look like for you?
Charlie’s Chance was founded with three main goals…to EDUCATE the public on the facts of epilepsy, to ADVOCATE for patients suffering with epilepsy, and to channel FUNDRAISING to enrich the lives of epilepsy patients. Partner with me as we fight to Overcome Epilepsy Together!
