Liberation from suffering is possible in this lifetime, according to Buddhist teachings. The key is cultivating awareness. Awareness has been compared to a bird with two wings - mindfulness and compassion. Both are necessary in order for the bird to fly. In this half-day retreat we will develop liberating awareness by practicing the two wings of freedom - mindfulness and lovingkindness meditation.
Meditation instruction/guidance will be balanced with periods of practicing in silence. No prior experience is necessary. This retreat is offered on zoom, with particular attention to how to adapt these practices to your home environment.
