Join Randolph faculty and students as they open the Winfree Observatory to members of the campus community and the general public to view celestial objects. View the schedule of Star Parties at www.randolphscience.org/star-partiesWhat to expect: Come out to see the newly updated Observatory telescope, with a big 6" refractor telescope and history timeline of the facility in the dome room upstairs, and astronomy outreach space on the main level. Stairs are required to access the upper level of the facility, and the lower observatory lawn area is accessible.
Parking: the Observatory is at the back of the Bell parking lot on N. Princeton Cir. with ample parking. The facility and lawn area is just a short walk up the path hill from the lot.
The members of the Blue Ridge Astronomy Club regularly assist with the astronomy outreach events at the observatory by volunteering and bringing various astronomical equipment and telescopes. To find out more about our local astronomy club, visit their website: www.blueridgeastro.com
