Join us on Tuesday evenings this Fall at LMC for a deep dive into the wide world of wine in this tasting-based class!
Wines of the World: France Off the Beaten Path
4-week Series | $100
Venture beyond the classic regions and discover the hidden gems of French wine. In this 4-week tasting series, you’ll explore the expressive wines of the Rhône Valley, Alsace, Beaujolais, and the South of France—regions known for their unique styles, diverse grapes, and rich traditions.
Led by the expert staff of Lake Michigan College’s Wine and Viticulture Technology Program, each session features guided tastings and comparisons with New World wines, including southwest Michigan selections.
Session Schedule:
- November 4: Rhône (Syrah, Grenache, Viognier, and blends)
- November 11: Alsace (Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, and more)
- November 18: Beaujolais (Gamay-based wines from light to structured)
- December 2: South of France (Languedoc, Roussillon, Provence—bold reds, rosés, and more)
This one-time $100 course fee includes all four class meetings and weekly wine tastings.
Course Meeting Times
This class runs concurrently with LMC's Wine and Viticulture Technology "Wines of the World I" course on Tuesday evenings from 5:30pm-7:00pm from September 2nd through December 9th. Class meets on LMC's Benton Harbor Campus at the Welch Center for Wine and Viticulture Technology.
