About this Event
In September, after years of struggling with misdiagnosed hearing loss, Amy received news that changed everything: a large Acoustic Neuroma—a rare benign, yet serious brain tumor was discovered. Due to its size and the symptoms she’s experiencing, surgery is scheduled for January at UC San Diego Health. The procedure will leave her deaf in her right ear and force her to relearn balance. Recovery will be long, with at least 4 to 6 weeks before she can return to work or drive, with a full recovery expected to take months.
