Another year has passed and it's time for Brett’s Annual Wine Tour, this year we are heading a little North of Melbourne to the Macedon area.At 9:30am, we will head off to our first winery, Zig Zag Wines, in Malmsbury. One of the oldest vineyards in the Macedon Ranges, Zig Zag’s rich, volcanic soil combined with hot days and cool nights, results in wonderful cool climate reds. Henry and Harriet Churchill’s cellar door offers beautiful vineyard views to enjoy while wine tasting. Zig Zag Wines is dog friendly (on leads).
Next stop is lunch! A short drive to Kyneton to the RSL to cater for all our budgets and tastes. If you wish to dine elsewhere, I'll give you a rendezvous location and time to meet later. We will have 1.5 hours for lunch.
We have visited Paramoor wines previously and we are set to return. After a recent mini refurb of its cellar door they are ready to welcome guests again.
From here, you are welcome to start your journey home, or if you wish, continue to the last winery which is not far away.
Our Last winery is at Hanging Rock winery. Located in the shadows of Hanging Rock and the Macedon Ranges. Here we will try some lovely wines that you might have seen in restaurants. Time here is about an hour.
The wineries have asked for numbers of drinkers and non-drinkers as well as cars participating (for parking arrangements), so please make sure you confirm your RSVP.
Please note, there may be some alterations to the itinerary.
