Slip behind the scenes at Hilmy Cellars as winemaker Michael Barton teaches you a bit about how wine blends are made. You will be randomly assigned to a small team and together you will create a red wine blend. Michael will taste the blended wines and choose a winner! While we anxiously await the winning team to be announced, you can purchase any Hilmy wine from their menu or indulge in a specially priced wine chosen for the event. Have a glass or take some bottles home. You will also be treated to a couple of Carnitas Street Tacos while you wait (sorry, special diets cannot be accommodated).
Each member of the winning team will be gifted a certificate for a free wine tasting to be used at Hilmy Cellars on another day. The wine cellar can be a chilly spot, so be sure to dress in layers or bring a sweater. Remember to drink plenty of water. You will be tasting several wines while creating your blend, so please prepare to spit and drink responsibly.
Advance reservation is required. Plan to arrive at 5:30 for a half hour of networking with fellow wine lovers. We will begin our blending session promptly at 6:00 so please arrive no later than 6:00 or you'll miss some of the fun. Members, non-members, women, men, industry professionals and casual wine lovers, everyone is invited. Seating is limited to 25, so RSVP asap. We’ll also have a wine pull so be sure to buy your $20 wine pull tickets separately or bring cash (proceeds go directly to our wine education scholarship).
