Join us for a beginner clay workshop at Farmhouse Corner Market in San Luis Obispo! We will be making a Ceramic Wine Tumbler and adding glaze transfers! You will learn the basics of working with clay using the pinch pot and coiling method and decorating using glaze transfers. Adriana Lemus will guide you through this intro to clay workshop!
The $65 fee includes cone 5 stone ware clay, all materials and tools to use during the workshop, glaze transfers for decorating, glaze and firing, and instruction by an experienced ceramic artist! Wine and light bites are available for purchase. Once your piece is created, you will leave it with the instructor where she will take it back to her studio in San Luis Obispo to be fired, glazed (painted), and fired a second time. This process takes about 4-5 weeks. When complete, your piece will be brought back to Farmhouse to be picked up.
Adriana Lemus was born and raised on the Central Coast and has been working with ceramics for 16 years. She studied art at UC Berkeley and has been running her own business for the past 7 years. Adriana creates functional and non-functional ceramic vessels that are made to connect with the soul. Adriana teaches private throwing lessons in her backyard studio, sells her work at local Makers Markets, online, and is currently working on commission work for restaurants, hotels, spas, and homes.
Farmhouse is a new wine lounge featuring wines curated from around the world with comfy couches and a welcoming vibe. Get wine by the glass or share a bottle with friends! You can also enjoy a seasonal selection of specialty toasts paired with your wine.
