The Loire Valley is a diverse French wine region famous for its fresh, mineral-driven white wines, particularly from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc grapes, and its elegant Cabernet Franc reds, all produced in a cool climate. It's known for its numerous appellations spread along the Loire River from the Atlantic coast to central France, including the Chenin Blancs of Anjou and Saumur, the Cabernet Francs of Chinon, and the Sauvignon Blancs of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume. The region also produces sparkling wines like Crémant de Loire and a variety of rosés.
