Okay, so we're really showing our wine nerd cards with this one. When we invited our friend Casey Lee of Advintage Distributing to lead the next wine tasting at the Tap, we asked him what kind of stuff he was excited about these days. His answer: "Volcanic French Wines."Regions directly in range of a looming magmatic eruption, or soil filled with remaining expellants from volcanic explosions past, share something in common: the potential to grow some of the most mineral-laden and distinct wines on earth. And though Volcanic earth represents a mere 1% of the total surface of the planet, the grapes grown in this soil are vast and varied. So in our ongoing exploration of French wines, we're going to hyper focus on wines made from vines that are grown in this volcanic soil. Volcanic soil has a tendency to impart a distinctive character to wine — both red and white — that can't be found anywhere else, and we're excited to have Casey here to lead us through some of his favorite picks for this tasting.
Tickets are $30 and include six wines + small bites. Reservations are required and space is limited!
