If you were considering doing a dry January, you might want to think twice! In one of the coldest months of the year, we will discover some great, iconic wines from Northern Greece, the coldest part of the country. They are guaranteed to warm you up.
We will taste at least nine wines from some of Greece's best-known winemakers including Alpha Estate, Katogi-Averoff, Kir-Yianni and Apostolos Thymiopoulos. The lineup will include four white wines, four red wines and a dessert wine from four different regions of northern Greece. It will include inexpensive as well as premium wines. We will focus on native Greek great varieties such as Malagouziá and Xinómavro, but also include some blends with the grapes from other regions.
The wines will be presented by agronomist and oenologist Petros Fotopoulos, who has wowed attendees at my previous Greek wine tastings at TapaSoif with both his passion and his depth of knowledge.
The tasting costs 70 euros and is limited to the first 30 people who sign up. Don't wait too long! This tasting is likely to fill up fast!
