Tix $25 in advance, $30 at the doorIn the first of this three-part class series, participants will be guided through the foundational elements of wine—from vine to glass. We will explore the grape growing process, including how climate, soil, and seasonal cycles influence grape development, and take a closer look at the anatomy and biochemistry of grapes to understand how sugar, acid, tannin, and aroma compounds are formed. The class will also introduce the basic principles of winemaking, offering insight into how these raw ingredients are transformed into wine.
A key focus of this session will be sensory awareness and how our senses shape the tasting experience. Participants will learn how sight, smell, taste, and texture work together, and how memory and perception influence what we experience in the glass.
Together, we will practice tasting wine like a professional through a guided tasting of several wines, including white, red, and semi-sweet styles. You will learn structured tasting techniques, develop vocabulary for describing wine, and gain confidence in identifying key characteristics—empowering you to better understand and enjoy wine in everyday settings.
