About this Event
Nestled in the mountains, hills, and valleys of northwestern Italy, the Piedmont is one of the world’s premier wine regions. While names like France’s Burgundy, California’s Napa, and even Italy's Tuscany may be more famous, the Piedmont has something almost no other region can match - astonishing variety. From the King and Queen of Italian wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, to the enormously crowd-pleasing Moscato D’Asti, the Piedmont boasts wines in a range of styles at a level of quality that must be tasted to be believed. It is a land where native grapes rule the roost, grapes like Barbera, Dolcetto, and even minor varieties like Freisa, Arneis, and Timorasso.
In this class, Anita Bender will showcase some of her favorite wines of the Piedmont. While a single class would be too short to feature the amazing variety of this region, this class will highlight some of the most important and delicious examples. Expect powerful reds made from the imposing Nebbiolo variety, fruitier wines to complement many situations, whites that sparkle with effervescent sweetness, and still others that pair with all manner of foods. Join us for this odyssey of Italian delights!
Must be 21+ to attend.
