9/28 Wine Basket Wine Basket
Description: learn to weave a Wine Basket using a variety of flat reed, flat oval reed and round reed. The Wine Basket is large enough to hold two wine bottles, a bottle of wine and a loaf of bread or bouquet of flowers.
This Wine Basket is woven on a 5x14 D Oak Handle with a partially filled solid base using a traditional start/stop technique. An inner divider is woven, which helps contents to remain separated. This is a perfect gift basket or housewarming gift!
Basket dimensions: finished basket size with handle is 5” wide, 8-9.5” tall (14” with handle) and 9-9.5” length.
Costs: $75 including instruction and material fee. Material fee includes reed (natural and dyed) and5x14 D handle, materials lists and use of instructor tools/supplies.
Skill level: intermediate beginner weaving experience helpful, however, if you have basic basket weaving experience you can easily complete this basket. You will be working with sharp scissors, students aged 14+ are best. Good hand strength is needed as you will be pulling and holding with a tight grip throughout the basket weaving process. You are using water throughout the weaving process, so wear something comfortable that you will not mind getting a little damp.
