The event is a fun, social event prior to The Fling. Launched as The Wine Grab in 2015 and expanded to include Whiskey in 2017, “The Drop” is your opportunity to taste a variety of wines and whiskeys that are available to purchase for yourself and/or to donate a bottle to be included in “The Grab” at The Fling.
Do I need to attend The Fling to attend the tasting?
No, come out for an afternoon of wine and whiskey tasting along with socializing!
Do I need an invitation to “The Drop”?
No! Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring your friends!
How does “The Grab” at The Fling work?
Bottles of wine valued at $35 or more and bottles of whiskey valued at $45 or more will be available for purchase at The Fling. The catch is that the bottles are disguised so you can’t identify what brand you have selected. Ticket prices are $40 for wine and $50 for whiskey.
It sounds like fun but I’m not a wine or whiskey connoisseur.
Most of us are not connoisseurs! Scott Guthrey and his distributors will be available at “The Drop” to provide tastings and recommendations. If you taste wine or whiskey that you enjoy, you can place your donation and personal orders through Scott on the day of “The Drop.” In addition, many of our supporters donate cash that can be used to purchase a donation on their behalf.
Can I spilt the cost of a bottle of wine or whiskey with friends?
Yes! Ask two or three of your friends to join you in donating a bottle of wine or whiskey.
What if I can’t make it to “The Drop”?
You can call any of the following Fling Committee members to make arrangements to pick up your donation.
