The Potential of Personal Pilgrimage - Sunday, Feb. 4th | 4:30 - 6:00
Michael Drell has worked to create and integrate the experience of pilgrimage into his life in a way that brings depth and intentionality. From the path through the streets of San Francisco in partnership with those on the margins to locations around the globe. He will share the experiences and insights on how each of us might explore ways to turn our everyday expeditions into a deeper journey into life. What might that look like for you?
Bring a bottle of wine and/or small plate to share. Doors open at 4:15.
Meet Michael
Michael is a candidate for entry into the holy orders of the Diocese of Cuernavaca in the Anglican Church of Mexico through the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley where he currently lives. His work is with community youth and foot clinics in the Mission and Japantown in San Francisco. He is particularly interested in how pilgrimage intersects with concepts of contemplation and care as well as how the experience of pilgrimage can integrate the arts, culture, and religion. Moreover, how does pilgrimage allow us to embody our trans-temporal relationship to other sacred material throughout creation beginning with our feet on the ground?
