About this Event
Wine and Stone - Powered by Natural Stone Institute
Red or white? Sweet or dry? Wine & Stone is a unique presentation designed to show how natural factors shape both wine and stone. Discover what makes stone hard or soft, veined or patterned, and how soil, climate, and mineral composition influence the flavor and acidity of wine. For example, limestone-rich soils create more acidic wines, while marbles, composed primarily of calcium carbonate are more vulnerable to acids and bases.
What You’ll Learn:
- How formation and mineral composition affect natural stone as a building material.
- Compare and contrast similar types of stone.
- How to tell compelling stories about stone to highlight its appeal.
- How climate and soil impact wine flavor and acidity.
