About this Event
Wine is complex, both in taste and wine labels. Many often don't know what to shop for at the store and buy wines based on advertising or 'cute' labels. This isn't 'wrong' but wine has so much to offer once you break through some of the mystery! Our Sommeliers will help break down these mysteries from grape to glass. In this course you will learn the history of viticulture, how to taste wine and identify what your preferences are, and we'll share details, and wines, from many of the top producing countries globally. We'll also address food and wine pairing.
By the end of the classes, you will have a good grasp of wine and you'll be able to put it to the test during your next visit to the wine shop or restaurant! This is a great course for enthusiasts or service staff that want to elevate their wine knowledge without a certification.
Please note, registration is for both sessions, Monday June 17 and 24 from 6pm to 8pm. Please plan to attend both classes.
What to expect:
- Sommelier guided wine education
- Wine 101 manual to use during class and take with you as reference
- Tasting pours of several wines from around the world
- A Master The World book of six wine samples to use after class to practice tasting and wine pairing ($150 value)
- Light apps and snacks during class.
- Reminder that this is not a certification course; however, it will lay the foundation for anyone interested in pursuing wine certifications.
Must be 21 or older to purchase tickets and attend the class!
