"windy HOME" is the first chapter of PKRD 59 and an invitation to our safe space. In a time of chaos and various crises including ecological, gender, and social issues, we create an alternative sense of serenity. Our HOME is a creative sanctuary where we can retreat, recharge, and reconnect. Describing it as "windy", we are allowing different artistic energies to move freely through it together in a single gust, combining to form a stable whole. During these open studios, artists manipulate the concept of private and public, describing it as a place intimately linked to personal and cultural experiences, evoking and eliciting emotions.
In "windy HOME" the two worlds clash – in this process viewers and artists try to redefine together the understating of the public and private sphere. When this happens HOME vacillates in its nature in an attempt to adjust and metamorphose its stability for those actively within it. So, what are the limits of an exhibition space? Drawing inspiration from Andrea Fraser and the approach of Institutional Critique, we aim to prompt a reconsideration of the spatial dimension of presented artworks, encouraging a closer engagement with the audience.
