Bobby Collins - Horn
Cassie Fry - Piano
Bobby Collins is a highly regarded international conductor and collaborator who has captivated symphonic and operatic audiences across the United States and Europe. With a vision for sharing beauty and fostering understanding, Bobby programs classic and contemporary masterworks that engage hearts and minds while wrestling with the issues of our day.
Deeply committed to building community, Bobby crafts unique programs that engage both newcomers and seasoned concertgoers through diversity, representation and remarkable musicality. With each engagement, he seamlessly merges his own interpretations with the artistic voices of various ensembles, creating transformative musical experiences at every concert. As a Music Director, Bobby consistently challenges orchestras to achieve greater musical excellence while deepening their connection to the community.
As the Co-Founder and Music Director of The Sound Ensemble, Bobby has been instrumental in establishing this professional chamber orchestra as a leader in the New Music scene in Seattle, Washington. He also led the Seattle Festival Orchestra for six years, facilitating significant musical growth and becoming the only orchestra in Seattle to offer regular opportunities for young children to experience classical music while also increasing audience engagement and budget size.
One of his greatest passions lies in creating cultural collaborations that celebrate the unique offerings of diverse cultures. Featuring music from the United States alongside the collaborating culture, these concerts foster bridges and friendships across borders. His cultural collaboration concerts in Seattle and Stockholm have received acclaim and have led to further collaborations.
In his third year as Assistant Conductor with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, Bobby has played a key role in producing their concerts and commercial recordings, as well as leading enthusiastically received Education Concerts.
Bobby has performed or recorded to high acclaim with ensembles such as London Symphony Orchestra, KammarensembleN (Stockholm), Philharmonia Northwest, Lake Union Civic Orchestra, Skagit Symphony, Cascade Symphony, and St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic.
Cassie Fry has been a devoted ensemble player since she graduated with a degree in piano performance from Oregon State University in 2015. She has toured internationally to Japan and played with the Portland Wind Symphony and the Tualatin Valley Symphony for three years. She has been accompanying vocal and instrumental soloists for over 15 years. Cassie currently resides in the Seattle area and enjoys teaching piano to students that share her passion for music.
