Join trip leaders Dennis Ronsse and Cam Leonard for 3-4 hours, 2 miles on the Lakeside Trail for willow identification and to visit a calcareous fen. Interesting plants to look for include Sparrowegg Lady's Slipper, Round-leaved Orchis, Greenland Primrose, Simple Bog Sedge and Sticky False Asphodel. Walking in the fen will be ankle deep, rubber boots are recommended.+ Parking at Eklutna Lake requires a state park pass or $5/day.
