Following the success of previous years, the 'Willowbrae Jumble Trail' is back!Spread the word and get your neighbours, friends and family involved.
It will be a fabulous day of community fun and active reuse and recycling where local residents set up stalls in their front gardens or on the street and giveaway jumble - pre-loved items, such as crafts, books, plants, toys, clothing (label sizes if possible), household goods, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered. A brilliant way to de-clutter and pickup something “new” (to you) to use and enjoy.
De-clutter your homes and give your unwanted goods a new home, and perhaps pickup something you can use or enjoy yourself.
Imagine a car boot sale, only held in our neighbourhood, outside homes across lots of streets, where everything is free!
Anyone in the community is welcome to take part. It’s a brilliant way for people to re-home things they don’t need, rather than them gathering dust unused, unloved and unwanted. Re-use, re-purposing and upcycling are great for the environment, and it’s good for our pockets too. Simply set up a "stall" (it could just be a box) in your front garden, or on the pavement outside your home.
Taking part also gets people out from behind their closed doors, meeting, chatting and getting to know their neighbours better, building a sense of connection between people where they live. When everyone feels a sense of benefit it creates a positive atmosphere and promotes friendly attitudes, so what’s not to like!?
If you plan to take part, please comment in the Facebook event page, it's helpful if you can include your address or street name, and an idea of what you are putting out, so that folk can seek it out!
Safety tips: Only put out things that are still usable/safe, and avoid creating trip hazards.
