Willow workshops at Haddenham Arts Centre, near Ely, CambridgeshireYou will learn techniques to make a traditional willow frame basket, ideal for foraging or display.
Willow weaving is a great way to learn about traditional techniques and natural materials. Share the company of family or make new friends while learning on the day.

Maximum 8 places to enable a really good learning experience. All tools and materials are supplied. This workshop is suitable for returning students to refine and develop more skills.
Workshops led by sculptor and weaver Jane Frost will provide a range of techniques and everyone will go home with a finished basket they can be proud of.
Jane has experience teaching all age groups with a variety of needs. This workshop is suitable for everyone over the age of 13, children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
Additional things you might like to bring; Notebook, pens or pencil, Garden Wire, Scissors and String, Sharp Knife – Stanley or Craft, Gardening gloves.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
You will need to have a reasonable amount of strength in your hands to be able to work with the willow. Please wear older clothes, such as you would wear for gardening, sandals are not advisable.
Willow needs to be prepared at least a week in advance for each workshop. Therefore if workshops are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, bookings will be transferred to alternative dates. No refunds will be given.
Haddenham Arts Centre lies between Cambridge and the historic cathedral city of Ely. We are just over 8 miles from Ely and 15 miles from Cambridge with plentiful free parking on site.
There is a good cafe with fresh food made each day.
