Willow Creek is looking for improvisers for our flagship team, Lady Franklyn, our short form team, Cool Shoes, as well as our Harold team, Pope Cactus. No need to prepare anything! Just show up ready to have fun!Current and former Improv Conservatory students will receive priority team placement, all interested in joining a team are encouraged to audition.
About Lady Franklyn:
Practice Times- Sundays from 3:00-4:30 pm
Show Times- Saturdays at 7:30 pm
Lady Franklyn is Iowa City's first professional team. Their sets are largely freeform, and last anywhere from half an hour to an hour. The team relies heavily on strong social bonds to allow them to continue to experiment with their style.
About Cool Shoes:
Practice Times- Sundays from 4:30-6:30 pm
Show Times- Frequently opens for Lady Franklyn Saturdays at 7:30. Headlines a monthly show. (Exact times and dates TBD)
Coach: Chris Apling
Cool Shoes exclusively focuses on short form improv. Cool Shoes is a fun and easy way for local improvisers to get regular stage time. There is a $10 coaching fee per Cool Shoes practice. Financial assistance is available for those who may need it.
About Pope Cactus:
Practice Times- Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00 pm
Show Times- Headlines a monthly show as well as regularly opens for other house teams (Exact dates and times TBD)
Coach: Luke Brooks (assistant coach Robbi Williams)
Inspired by a single suggestion, Pope Cactus generates and explores three different ideas that grow and overlap over three different sections, called beats. There is a $10 coaching fee per Pope Cactus practice. Financial assistance is available for those who may need it.
