Annual Willingboro Kwanzaa Fest 2024
Get ready for an exciting celebration of African-American culture at the Willingboro Kwanzaa Fest 2024! Join us on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the John F. Kennedy Recreation Center for a day filled with joy, unity, and tradition.
Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as we honor the principles of Kwanzaa through various activities, performances, and cultural displays. From the opening Nguzo Saba Candle lighting ceremony to visits at the African Marketplace to African music and dance performances, workshops and storytelling, and craft-makikng, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
This in-person event will bring together individuals and families to celebrate the rich heritage of Kwanzaa. Discover the seven principles of Kwanzaa - Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith - and learn how they shape our community.
December 28 is Ujimaa - Collective Work and Responsibility. On this 3rd day of Kwanzaa, we will uplift and enjoy youth storytellers, immerse ourselvels in black knowledge through the African American Inventors' Museum, Kick it with Kenny J as we meet on the floor for soul line dancing, engage with International Soul Steps, LLC as they "shine in floor skimming-speed and percussive embroidery - (NY Times) while teaching the history of stepping and African boot dancing and get energized with the compelling Zawadi African Dance and Drum, Inc. Performers.
