Collegetown Gallery Artist: Frank Hummel Jr. - Lycoming College
Medium(s) and title of exhibit:
“254 Expressions” - Oil paint, colored pencil, linoleum block print, copper plate print.
Short biography and artist statement:
Frank W. Hummel Jr. born in 1978 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, where he grew up in a close-knit community. He is married to Kate and has three children: Katie (24), Frankie (7), and Elizabeth (5).
After earning an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts, Frank worked in food service for over 25 years, spending the last 18 years in college food service. However, his passion for learning and the arts led him to return to school to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Art with a Business minor. He is set to graduate in May.
Frank is also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge J.F.L. #707 in South Williamsport, where he served as master from 2021 to 2022. His leadership and involvement in the Masons reflect his commitment to service and community.
As he prepares to graduate, Frank is excited for the next phase of his career and personal growth, all while remaining dedicated to his family and community.
As an artist, my vision is to create work that invites engagement, evokes memories, and stirs emotions. I want my art to be approachable, connecting with everyone on a personal level. My goal is not only to provoke thought but also to inspire reflection on how all communities are interconnected. We may all see the same image, yet each person forms their own unique connection to it. In that way, we are united by our shared experiences, even in our differences.
A deep love for my family is woven throughout my work, as I often draw inspiration from the things that matter most to them—whether it's a topic that affects them personally or an interest they hold dear. Through my art, I aim to celebrate the bonds we share, both within our families and with the broader world around us.

What is the Spirits of Williamsport? Lycoming Arts is partnering with Williamsport’s very talented bartenders, restaurants, breweries, and bars to offer new, delicious cocktails and craft beverages starting every First Friday of the month!
Who is participating? Local restaurants, bars, and breweries. Each month Lycoming Arts will release the list of establishments and their featured beverages via our social media channels.
When is the Spirits of Williamsport? Every First Friday starting at 5pm each establishment will release their new, featured beverages. Some beverages may be available for a longer timeframe, but we encourage heading downtown each First Friday for the full experience!
