Williams & Russell CDC Breaks Ground on Historic 1.7-Acre Development
Join us on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM PT for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Williams & Russell reparative development, marking a transformative step in revitalizing Portland's historic Albina neighborhood. This over $115M project will transform a 1.7-acre vacant site into 85 affordable housing units, 20 townhomes, a cultural-specific daycare, and a 30,000-square-foot Black Business Hub to support Black-owned businesses. With deep ties to Portland's African American history, the development aims to heal the community by restoring what was lost during urban renewal. The event will bring together local leaders, residents, and political representatives to celebrate the beginning of this community-led initiative, with an anticipated completion in 2027.
