With Rocket Opera soloists, William Shield Chamber Orchestra, leader Bradley Creswick and chorus.Highlights from William Shield's operas including arias and choruses from Robin Hood and other stage works contrast with Mozart's early masterpiece of 1765, 'Bastien et Bastienne', composed when Mozart was only 12. This will be sung in English.
There are just three characters, and it is a simple work, being a comic parody of a play by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 'Le Devin de village'. The music is lively, tuneful and colourful.
Celebrity artists from Rocket Opera are Ruth Jenkins Robertsson, soprano; Austin Gunn, tenor and Andri Bjorn Robertsson-Colas, bass baritone.
