About this Event
During this relaxed 2 hour workshop you will be taught how to make a contemporary drum-lampshade to a professional standard, using your choice of beautiful William Morris fabric.
The workshop will take place in the Jan Molby Room which is a light and airy community space on Floor 2 of the John Lewis store, in Liverpool One. Refreshments following the workshop (hot drink & a slice of cake) in the John Lewis Floor 3 'The Place to Eat' Restaurant are included in the ticket price.
No experience necessary and all materials and equipment will be provided. Workshop numbers are limited to 6 people, which will ensure lots of one-to one teaching time.
The finished shade will be 30cm in diameter and will be suitable for use on a table lamp, or as a pendant shade.
You will go home with a wonderful lampshade for your home or to gift to a loved one, plus the skills to make many more!
Please note : when booking your ticket you will be asked to select your fabric design by name. Before booking your ticket, take a look at the series of 10 fabric designs in the picture carousel above, select your choice of design, and make a note of the name. There are limited amounts of each fabric available and each design will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Bluebird Upholstery has been transforming peoples well-loved but worn-out furniture, from a workshop in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter since 2014. Owner Imogen Woodings is an AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers) trained upholsterer & QEST Scholar, is skilled in both traditional and modern upholstery, and was featured in the 2018 book 'A Celebration of British Craftsmanship'. As well as undertaking upholstery commissions, Imogen also makes and sells beautiful handmade lampshades & cushions.
