About this Event
William Henry Marsh Parr was born in Hindley Green, Wigan. After training at the Railway Mechanics Institute in Horwich, he became one of the most prestigious electrical engineers at Harland and Wolff in Belfast. Parr was chosen to be a member of the Guarantee Group on Titanic travelling as a first-class passenger.
Much is written about Titanic but little about William Henry Marsh Parr’s brave deeds. Parr’s life and death have been little documented and rarely mentioned or remembered over the past 112 years since Titanic sank. Join Caroline to find out more about this local hero.
