2024 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of William Gilpin (1724-1804) and to celebrate this anniversary, Painshill will display his sketches in the landscape.To coincide with this trail, this study day looks at his life, work and time at Painshill.
Gilpin visited Painshill for the second time on 14 August 1772 and documented his visit by sketching and making notes. 252 years later, join us to look at his original sketchbook of Painshill and learn more about him.
