This presentation will review recently enacted federal tax legislation and the impact of the 2024 Presidential and Congressional election results on the federal tax legislative agenda for 2025 and beyond.

Bridging Discomfort with Tax Insurance by James Chenoweth & Jeff Korenblatt

Panelists will discuss insurance opportunities to achieve financially guaranteed tax outcomes for clients and parties who have a low risk tolerance for tax uncertainty.

BBA Partnership Audit Rules by Kate Kraus

The Bipartisan Budget Act partnership audit rules were enacted in 2015, and they are becoming increasingly relevant in audits and transactions. This presentation will discuss best practices and key issues, including how BBA audits are actually being conducted, common pitfalls to avoid, recent developments, and partnership terminations.

Employee Retention Credits: Separating Fact from Fiction as Tax Disputes Evolve by Sheppard Hale

This tax incentive has all the elements to ignite major battles: Four laws, multiple sources of administrative guidance, rules with retroactive effect, long delays, billions in refunds, companies urging aggressive positions, inconsistent assessment periods, and multiple civil and criminal enforcement efforts.
