St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (1695 Perrowville Road, Forest) continues its yearlong bicentennial celebration by hosting The Rev. Will Vaus, author of "Sheldon Vanauken: The Man Who Received 'A Severe Mercy,'" for a book talk and signing on Saturday, September 28 at 4:00 p.m. Vaus, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and the President of Will Vaus Ministries, will offer a special presentation on Vanauken, a long-time parishioner at St. Stephen's and Professor of English and History at Lynchburg College. Vanauken is best known as the author of A Severe Mercy, a book detailing his life and spiritual journey with his wife Jean and the development of his friendship with noted English professor and author C. S. Lewis. A limited number of Vaus' book will be available for purchase at the event.
