"Serpentine" seeks to tell a sonic story. Each original composition means to take listeners along on a journey through distinct places. The journey isn’t straightforward. Some compositions drop listeners off again where they started for a round trip, while others leave the audience in new places. Rooted in the language of jazz, the pieces were shaped collaboratively, with spontaneous interaction between musicians serving as a compass. This album is not just a collection of songs, but a living document of a journey through new musical terrain.
