In 1942, the Manhattan Project needed tons of uranium. With only a few grams in existence, there was little hope anyone could achieve such a feat. Harley Wilhelm, a chemistry professor in Iowa, rose to the challenge. Teresa Wilhelm Waldof reveals the life and times of this unsung hero.
This program is sponsored by Fergus Falls Public Library and Viking Library System. This project is funded in part or in whole with monies from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage fund.
