Join Dr. Brittany Scharf for this in-person Wildlife Monitoring special topic course in Hernando County from February 18–20. Through a mix of classroom instruction and immersive field activities, participants will learn how to monitor mammals, birds, reptiles, and other wildlife across Florida’s natural landscapes.Field experiences include horseshoe crab monitoring at Alfred McKethan Pine Island, red-cockaded woodpecker monitoring in the Withlacoochee Forest, and gopher tortoise tracking, giving participants practical skills they can apply in conservation, education, and stewardship efforts.
