About this Event

Calling all earth skills enthusiasts, lovers of nature, and curious learners! Join us for our free, inclusive, and engaging monthly Wilderness on Tap series, where we'll come together to celebrate our deep connection with nature, learn, and connect with like-minded individuals. Each month will feature a different theme, skill, or topic and some form of group discussion.

April’s topic of discussion: Council and Mirroring

In a council, also known as a talking circle, participants gather in a circular formation to engage in deep and respectful conversation. One of the key practices within a council is mirroring, where individuals reflect back the words and emotions expressed by the speaker. This practice is not about parroting or repeating verbatim, but rather about demonstrating active listening and empathy. Mirroring allows participants to feel truly heard and understood, fostering a sense of connection and mutual respect within the circle. Through this reflective exchange, individuals can gain insights into their own feelings and thoughts while enhancing the collective experience of sharing and listening.

INTENTIONS FOR OUR TIME TOGETHER:

 1. Skill share: The skill share portion of our evening is short but rich. We do a presentation of a skill or topic for approximately thirty minutes. If you have suggestions for future skills to share, topics to discuss, or guest speakers who might be interested in presenting, please send us a message.
 2. Group Discussion: Engage in meaningful conversation and share your thoughts, experiences, and insights related to a monthly theme or question. This format may be a facilitated council (talking circle), open Q&A, or general group discussion depending on the evening’s intentions.
 3. Networking and Building Connections: Connect with new people in the community, share stories, witness and be witnessed in a group of people who feel a calling to join a new network of rewilding enthusiasts.
WHO’S PRESENTING THIS MONTH?

Ansley Roberts is an Appalachian-born, desert-grown kid with more tree sap running through her veins than blood. Raised in a humorous family of actors, leaders, musicians, and storytellers, Ansley always had a knack for deep listening and performance. She apprenticed with Ariella Daly of Honey Bee Wild in beekeeping, dreamwork, and goddess study as well as in wilderness ceremonial leadership with Cascadia Quest. Ansley grew up designing sets and lighting for theatrical performances, playing guitar, writing music, and crafting poetry. As a trained herbalist, professional wilderness guide, and energetic practitioner, Ansley has the great honor and joy of leading others to their belonging on this earth and to the stories in their bones. Learn more about Ansley in our Guides page or find ways to work together in a 1:1 Mentorship with Ansley.
