The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) class is designed to provide you with the tools you need to make important medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations. A two-day excursion that is arranged to meet the needs of trip leaders, campers, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become harmed or injured far from definitive medical care. Lectures and presentations are combined with simulated scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.WFA training will include: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic First Aid (BFA). Both are mostly required in the Local Government Units and the Private Sectors. WFA skills are worth learning. This is mainly because in the wilderness, the following may not be present:
– Emergency Medical Service (EMS)
– Advanced Life Support (ALS)
– Prolonged Life Support (PLS)
