The Wilderness Basic Rope Rescue Operations (WBRRO) covers far beyond typical wilderness rescue training and urban-based emergency responder programs to include fundamentals inherent in guiding groups in the outdoors and leading fellow outdoor enthusiasts on different wilderness adventures. The WBRRO is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical wilderness rescue training with hands on training in SAR knots, anchor systems, improvised harnesses, mechanical advantages, hardware, software, belay techniques, packaging a patient for transport in a litter, ascending a rope, and other techniques to effect a litter evacuation, hoist, or hazardous terrain crossings sequences.WBRRO Highlights
