About this Event
Join us for Wilderness and the Word: A Men’s Journey into Sacred Silence and Soulwork — a spiritual hike designed to reconnect body, mind, and spirit with the Creator through stillness, reflection, and fellowship.
In the sanctuary of creation, every step becomes an act of worship as we slow our pace to match the rhythm of the Spirit, listening for God’s whispers in the wind and His presence in the stillness. This is a sacred time to reflect, renew, and realign your heart with God’s purpose.
Schedule & Flow
12:15 PM – Arrival, Gathering, and Stretching
Meet at the trailhead, greet one another, and begin with light stretching to awaken the body and prepare for the journey — releasing tension, deepening the breath, and centering body and spirit.
12:30 PM – Opening and Introductions
Each brother will briefly introduce himself and share what he hopes to gain from the experience — a single word, phrase, or short reflection.
12:40 PM – Grounding in Stillness (5 Minutes)
A moment of complete silence to connect with God through your senses:
What do you see, hear, smell, feel, and taste?
This sacred pause helps us quiet the mind and open the heart to divine presence.
12:45 PM – Liturgy Reading
Together, we’ll read a liturgy — each participant sharing a portion aloud as sacred communal praxis.
1:00 PM – The Hike and Sacred Reflection (Approx. 2.5 Hours)
We’ll begin our hike accompanied by a curated playlist designed to nurture reflection and spiritual connection. Along the way, we’ll listen inwardly and outwardly — allowing the music, nature, and the Spirit to guide our meditation.
At a midpoint, we’ll pause for Lectio Divina, a sacred practice of listening and responding to the Word:
- Lectio – Hear sacred words read → What word or phrase captures your heart
- Meditatio – Listen again → Why is the Spirit impressing this upon you today?
- Oratio – Offer your prayer in response → What do you need to say to God
- Contemplatio – Rest silently in divine presence → No words, just abiding
- Actio (optional) – What step of transformation is being invited?
3:30 PM – Closing Confession and Sharing
We’ll conclude in a circle of reflection:
Did you receive what you expected? Did God reveal something different?
This is a sacred space for open sharing, gratitude, and fellowship.
