Our theme this half term is Brilliant Birds, we will be making bird feeders and exploring what they eat by dissecting owl pellets!
About this Event

Durham Wildlife Trust presents an immersive programme of outdoor activities which offer participants the opportunity to engage with our local habitats and access a range of outdoor experiences right here on our Coalfields doorstep.


Sessions will run from Durham Wildlife Trust Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve. We meet in the Bellamy Room at 10am.


Activities will include:


  • Making willow woven bird feeders and fat balls. (Please state any allergies to seeds, nuts and aspirin due to these activities).
  • Completing an Owl ID Trail and exploring what owls eat by dissecting owl pellets.

Lunch is included (please advise of dietary requirements). Booking essential to attend. Please come dressed for the weather on the day, wearing sensible shoes and waterproofs if required.


These sessions are primarily aimed at people from the Coalfields area. When completing your booking please complete all the fields as the funders have requested specific information about attendees . Please complete the parental consent form to bring with you on the day.
