Wild Rivers Free Community Paddle WeekendWe invite and welcome all community members to try whitewater canoeing, to connect and meet new people, have fun in the water, and learn about river safety. Whether it’s your first or your fiftieth time paddling, we want to share the sport with you!
Come to our stunning Exodus Property at Buccarumbi for an unforgettable half day whitewater canoe paddling experience down the mighty Nymboida River or Boyd River – a journey down wild rivers.
There are limited spots – only 32 spots available for paddling but your family and friends are welcome to come and be a part of this exciting family-friendly weekend.
REQUIREMENT
• Whitewater canoeing is a family-friendly sport however you must be 10+ years old to participate.
• No experience required and no upper age limit.
• Don’t worry if you’ve never paddled whitewater before. This half day canoeing experience is led by qualified guides who has extensive knowledge and unmatched experience, ensuring that your day is both fun and safe.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
· Expert training in skills and safety.
· Qualified & experienced Whitewater Instructors & Guides to keep you safe on the water.
· Quality equipment: Canoes, Paddles, Barrels, Lifejackets, Helmets, Cags (rain jacket), and rescue gear.
· Catering – fresh, healthy, and nutritious food and snacks provided for Saturday only Please advise of any special dietary needs when making your booking.
· Wilderness First Aid Kit, Radios and InReach (satellite communication).
· Transfers to river put in and pull-out points.
· 24-hour 4WD support vehicle and satellite tracking support.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED
• No supervision of children for the weekend – parents/guardians are responsible for supervision of any child under the age of 18 years old when on our Exodus Property.
• No free equipment use on Sunday the 8th of March – hire options are available.
• BYO food and snacks for Sunday the 8th March.
• Toilets - if staying overnight we request that you bring your own toileting set up.
o Do not leave wastes and toilet paper in the bush.
o You need to dig a "cathole" at least 15-20cm (6-8 inches) deep and wide enough to aim into, and at least 50-70m (200ft) away from the river, dams, trails, and campsites. Cover it completely with soil and disguise it, packing out toilet paper or burying it with the waste.
ITINERARY
Saturday 7th March
Half day whitewater canoe paddle: Approx 3 hours
Start time: 9am
Finish time: 1:30pm

What’s included on Saturday:
• Qualified & experienced Whitewater Instructors & Guides to keep you safe on the water, with local knowledge on the Nymboida and Boyd River systems.
• Transfers from our base to river put in and pull-out points.
• Life jacket (PFD), helmet and rescue gear
• 4WD support vehicle.
• Wilderness First Aid Kit, Radios and InReach (satellite communication).
• Sunscreen.
• Free refreshments: water, fruit and snacks on the river.
• Free BBQ lunch.
Sunday 8th March
Equipment dry hire options are available. Pease contact us to discuss and to book.

• Swimming – parents/guardians to always supervise children when in the water.

CHECK-IN DETAILS
• Only 32 people can participate in the half day whitewater canoe experience.
• Registration and signing our online waiver form is required for participation.
• Must be 10 years old or older to participate.
• Bring your own canoe or kayak. If you’re bringing your own boat and PFD (life-jacket) your gear will need to be approved by our qualified whitewater guides. If found not appropriate you will be given what you need to participate.
• Please take all your rubbish with you. We do not have a rubbish collection at Buccarumbi and we ask that you ‘Leave No Trace’ to keep our rivers, environment and land eco-friendly.
WHAT TO BRING
Towel, sunscreen, sun safe swimwear, hat or cap, closed in shoes (old joggers or sneakers that can get wet) - no slip on or elastic shoes, and spare clothes to change into when you get off the river.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Children under 18 year of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
