About this Event
Welcome to Evan's Creek Loop!
Come join us for Ranch San Rafael Regional Park. Get ready to explore the beautiful trails and enjoy the fresh air as you dedicate time to writing. This in-person event is perfect for creative, nature lovers who want to find community.
The theme and inspiration for creative prompts for this hike is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
"Because the relationship between self and the world is reciprocal, it is not a question of first getting enlightened or saved and then acting. As we work to heal the earth, the earth heals us.”
We will discuss themes of Kimmerer's work like gratitude, reciprocity, healing, and the connection between humans and the natural world. Bring existing story ideas (fiction or non) or come with an open mind to create something new.
This loop is 4.8 miles with 677 feet of elevation gain, so please plan accordingly. We will offer an abbreviated version of this hike (on December 7th) for those who would prefer to cut the distance and elevation in half. PLEASE be prepared to hike!
Suggested donation is $20.
